homework 39

part A:

- why do we come to school if people are only there to judge?
- who is going to benefit from going to school?
- why do we try to make the best of it in a bad way when were told its good for our future?
- people act out because they cant at home
- people feel like they get more attention in school
- just a place to chill with your friends
- smoking..drinking..sex
- talking back to a teacher/ being disrespectful
- skipping/ cutting

part B:

being in school for a bunch a years you experience a lot of different things. some things that i have seen or heard are what i think shouldn't be allowed in school. for example drinking and smoking in school. there are kids that do certain things that should not be allowed in school and they get caught and thats something that changed school itself because kids take advantage.
we come to school to learn and try to get what grown ups call a education so we can build skills and knowledge so we can be successful in the world but thats not always the case. why is it that we judge each other in and outside of the classrooms and hallways? if its not about how smart or dumb someone is, its about how lazy you are or what type of clothes you wear or who you hang out with. and everybody gets caught up in it.
my idea is that some kids come to school because they have no place to go so they do what they would normally do outside of school inside just because their parents told them to come so they will make the best of it by drinking or smoking or having sex. while other students come to follow the expectations that are set by the world to come and do the "right" thing so they could have a better life when they leave school. but who is really benefiting from all of this? is it the teacher?..student?..parents?..your future self?
i feel that acting out in school comes from the lack of attention or rebellion at home. we kids feel like we are forced to come to school everyday monday thru friday from 8:30 to 3:10 because the only way to get a good education is by coming to school. and when you do the same thing everyday it tends to get boring because all you do is move from classroom to classroom and sit down in a chair for a hour each period. so kids like to spice it up and do something different by going against school rules and doing what they feel like doing.
